His award-winning novel, The Execution Of Richard Sturgis, As Told By His Son, Colin, was published by the Southeast Missouri State University Press. His memoir, Fake Smiles, was published by Tidepool Press and praised by Walter Isaacson, Michael Lynton, and Jeffrey Frank. His fiction and non-fiction have appeared in The Gettysburg Review, Pleiades, The Boston Globe Magazine, and many others. He has practiced law, run a veterans hospital, and been a member of the musicians’ union of Washington, DC. He holds degrees from Harvard Law School and from Yale. Â
